We have partnered with the board certified, fellowship-trained radiologists from Green Bay Radiology to now offer several new imaging services onsite at our Green Bay clinic. These examinations and procedures can be an integral part of the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic conditions.

One of the new services is fluoroscopic procedures, including therapeutic and diagnostic joint injections of anesthetic and steroids. These injections can help to determine the cause of symptoms, while also providing relief. Diagnostic injections of contrast prior to MRI can improve accuracy in the diagnosis of shoulder labral tears, hip labral tears, intraarticular loose bodies (such as loose cartilage in the joint), and cartilage defects.

Another new service is diagnostic ultrasound of joints, muscles, and tendons. For certain conditions and injuries, ultrasound can provide an accurate diagnosis at a lower cost than other imaging tests and without the use of ionizing radiation.

The OSMS rheumatology physicians and Green Bay Radiologists will also perform ultrasound guided diagnostic and therapeutic injections. These can provide valuable clinical information and symptom relief. Types of ultrasound guided injections now available at our clinic include:

  • Corticosteroid injections for reducing pain caused by inflammation.
  • Tendon fenestration (a treatment for tendinosis).
  • Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, which can induce a strong healing response.

We will continue to offer high quality diagnostic X-ray and MRI services.
