At OSMS Green Bay, we offer some of area’s leading technology and diagnostic equipment.
For more detailed diagnostics, our surgeons may recommend an MRI. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is another diagnostic imaging technique that produces cross-sectional images of your body. MRI is radiation-free and uses magnetic fields and a software to take high-resolution pictures of your bones and soft tissues.
Patients with a pacemaker, implants, or other metal objects in their body should notify our staff before an MRI scan.
X-rays are the most common and widely available diagnostic imaging technique. X-rays allow our surgeons to quickly access bone fractures, dislocations, separations and other injuries. Even if you also need more advanced tests, you will probably get an x-ray first.
Bone density scans use x-rays to measure the density of calcium in your bones. Our doctors can determine the risk of fractures or measure the level of a patient’s osteoporosis. The scans also can:
Identify decreases in bone density before you break a bone
Determine your risk of broken bones (fractures)
Confirm a diagnosis of osteoporosis
Monitor osteoporosis treatment
At OSMS, we use use ultrasound as a diagnostic imaging technology to see internal body structures such as tendons and muscles, and joints. Ultrasounds are completely radiation-free as they use soundwaves to image localized parts of the body.
Ultrasound Guided Injection:
At OSMS, we often use ultrasound technology to help guide our doctors in finding the right joint location for pain medication or local anesthetics. With the advantage of ultrasound screening, we can administer injections both accurately and effectively, giving our patients the best possible outcome.
We accept imaging referrals (MRI, CT, and Ultrasound) from other healthcare facilities and do not require the referred patient to be seen by one of our doctors. As a provider, please download and fax the required information to Radiology Scheduling (details provided on the document).
