Sandy French DO

Anesthesiologist

A native of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, Dr. Sandy French received her medical degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa and completed her residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Drawn to anesthesiology because of the high-acuity, high-impact nature of perioperative care in the operating room, anesthesiology was a natural fit for Dr. French as the operating room became her clinical home. Dr. French enjoys the procedural and technical aspects of anesthesia and performing nerve blocks and spinal anesthesia is particularly rewarding for her because of the rapid and meaningful relief it provides to patients.

Dr. French believes that the best part of her job is seeing immediate results from her work. Making meaningful differences in her patients’ postoperative experience, where they wake up after surgery comfortable, calm, and with well-controlled pain is extremely gratifying to her.

In her free time, Dr. French values time with her husband, three active children, and their golden retriever. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a priority for Dr. French, and her favorite way to start the day is with a workout. She enjoys running, weightlifting, stretching, and trying various Peloton workouts, plus she loves attending country concerts and appreciates time at home with family and friends.

“Patients can expect me to be approachable, reassuring, and communicative. I understand that surgery and anesthesia can create a lot of anxiety, so I try to meet patients with empathy and explain things in a clear and understandable way. I enjoy helping patients feel calm and comfortable before surgery, and I think creating that sense of trust is an important part of being a skilled anesthesiologist.”
